All are welcome to come for a short ceremony Saturday, January 28th at 1pm to help us honor John Wolfe, Veteran of WWII and his brother Robert Wolfe, Veteran of the Korean War at a Quilts of Valor ceremony.

The quilts made by the Quilts of Valor Foundation’s member volunteers are called Quilts of Valor, sometimes referred to as QOVs. They are awarded to U.S. military service members and veterans who have been touched by war. A Quilt of Valor is a lifetime award.  The QOV website currently shows 151,073 QOV’s awarded at this time.

Please come for a short ceremony and presentation of their quilts in the Uptown Theatre space in the First Street Community Center at 1pm, followed by a reception upstairs in the Library for refreshments.

From Kim Wolfe:

Here are the quilts going to John and Bob. I’m not sure which one to whom, Kelli Wolfe knows as she not only dyed the fabric and quilted them. Elayne, the CR Quilt coordinator for QoV, pieced the quilts. They are stunning in person!

For more information about Quilts of Valor see their website at:  http://www.qovf.org/

Auditions for MVLCT’s Production of Middletown by Will Eno

PLEASE SHARE

The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Theatre (MVLCT) will be having auditions for their production of Middletown, by Will Eno on January 15 and 16, 2017, in Mount Vernon’s First Street Community Center on the Uptown Theatre stage.

Auditions will be held both nights starting at 7pm.

Direct from the MVLCT.com website:

… We are looking for actors as well as technical crew–so if you are interested, please stop by on either night!

Middletown is a quirky dark comedy that explores the somewhat bizarre universe of small town America, and, of course, existential dread and all the accumulated experiences that make our “lives” what they are. Folks that have great comedic timing and understand script text that is very conversational and “back-and-forth” will be perfect for any of these roles…

Visit MVLCT.com for information about the play, the possible roles for this performance, access to a portion of the script, and more information!
