Blame Not the Bard is on a mission: to bring alive the songs and stories of Ireland.
With a lineup including Mount Vernon High School alumna Nikki Philbrick (’06), Blame Not the Bard expertly blends captivating storytelling and historical knowledge with fiery instrumentals and musical prowess.
Their high-energy show will get your hands clapping and feet tapping through an afternoon of down-to-earth entertainment you won’t soon forget!


Tickets: $15 at the door

Refreshments: Bring your own beverage to enjoy during the concert in the
Uptown Theatre cup (purchase a cup for $5.00).

 


Blame Not the Bard was formed in 2015. Since then, they have played hundreds of shows, lighting up the stages in intimate lounges and major festivals including main stage appearances at the Iowa Irish Fest in Waterloo, IA. Boasting multiple media appearances, including a 2021 feature in Little Village Magazine, an artist feature on KDEC 100.5 and numerous appearances on the award-winning Irish and Celtic Music Podcast with tunes from their debut album, Soundcheck, and a 2022 full-length Greetings from Iowa PBS special, Blame Not the Bard is sharing their songs and stories nationwide.

Cold Moon Market

Join us in the gymnasium of the First Street Community Center where you’ll find holiday gifts and provisions by local growers and makers. The Cold Moon Market will be an experiential and social event, so plan to stay a bit! Our poet laureate will be back with her instant poems on typewriter. Phi Phi, Sophia Andrews’ newest music project, will perform a curated set of holiday music. The Lisbon Prom Committee will offer gift wrapping using eco-friendly wrapping materials, all for a freewill donation.

And the FOOD! You can eat at the market or take some home with you.
