The Farmer’s Market is Inside for the Winter

Mount Vernon Farmers’ Market:
2014 – 2015 Winter Season.

From November 1st thru April 25th. Held indoors, in the First Street Community Center gymnasium, where it is warm and dry no matter what the weather is doing outside.

Bring the family and choose from an array of pork and lamb, beef sticks, fresh greens, storage vegetables like potatoes, onions, and winter squash, beautiful baked breads and sweet treats, jewelry, and hand-crafted items!

We have only local products, produced by our local growers and artists.

“The British Invasion” – Meet the Silver Wings

Saturday, October 25, 2014, from 7:30pm – 10pm everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a live musical performance by The Silver Wings.  You are welcome to bring your own pop – wine, beer and buy a theater cup for $5.

Describing themselves on their Facebook page as:

Iowa’s Beatles tribute band. We don’t try to look like the Beatles. We just want to sound like them.  Our fans say we’ve succeeded!

The band is made up of:

  • Mike Zscherny
  • Bob Zuber
  • Kevin Witte
  • Russ Allen
  • Paul Abodeely

Admission is $10 per person.  Tickets are available ahead of the performance at Bauman’s in downtown Mount Vernon, Iowa.  Call (319) 895-8692 for tickets and information.

This Old Schoolhouse Is Rockin’ This Weekend

The First Street Community Center’s Uptown Theater is hosting the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Theatre’s production of “Schoolhouse Rock Live!”. You won’t want to miss this live, family friendly, theater event!

October 17th and 18th at 7pm.
October 18th and 19th at 2pm.

Tickets are on sale before the performance at Care-Pro Pharmacy and the Lisbon Public Library, or call (319) 535-2030 to reserve your tickets. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for youth (3 years old – High School).

Mount Vernon Farmers’ Market – 2014

The Mount Vernon Farmers’ Market is still going strong. Be sure to keep an eye out for those seasonal harvest items that you’ve been waiting for!
