The Mount Vernon Winter Farmers Market can be found inside the the gymnasium of the First Street Community Center with delicious baked goods, local meats and produce, jams and jellies, and more!  Bring your kids, your friends, and a stray neighbor or two! We have a variety of vendors and a plethora of delicious items from which to choose. Stock the cupboards and fill the pantry, it is time for the Mt. Vernon Winter Farmers Market!

Each participating business/restaurants will have specials or promotions throughout the entire weekend.

Magical Night to be “Drive Through” Event

5 – 7pm

The outside of the First Street Community Center will be lighted with holiday decorations.  On the east side, of the front side walk, Matt Siders will be handing out a bag with cookies and cookie decorations.  Also included in the bag will be a list of Mount Vernon shops and their shop hours during December. On the west side, in front of the large red sun, actors from the Mount Vernon/Lisbon Community Theatre will be singing and having fun with characters from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.

Dance Arts Iowa will be performing scenes from the Nutcracker live in the front window of the Palisades Café.


The event will not include indoor activities this year due to safety concerns, and parking will not be allowed along the 1st Street route.

The First Street Community Center parking lot will be closed to the public.  There will be no public traffic in First Street Community Center and shops will not be open.
