Join us in the gymnasium of the First Street Community Center where you’ll find holiday gifts and provisions by local growers and makers. The Cold Moon Market will be an experiential and social event, so plan to stay a bit! Our poet laureate will be back with her instant poems on typewriter. Phi Phi, Sophia Andrews’ newest music project, will perform a curated set of holiday music. The Lisbon Prom Committee will offer gift wrapping using eco-friendly wrapping materials, all for a freewill donation.
And the FOOD! You can eat at the market or take some home with you.
Magical Night returns on Thursday, December 1 in Uptown Mount Vernon from
5 to 8pm.
Volunteers from the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group (CDG) have teamed with the City of Mount Vernon, City of Mount Vernon Parks & Rec, the First Street Community Center, local churches, and all Uptown businesses for this event that celebrates the beginning of the holiday shopping season.
The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group (CDG) is coordinating the Shop Small Saturday celebration on Saturday, November 26, 2022. Stores will be open and have specials throughout Mount Vernon and Lisbon from 9AM to 5PM each day.
Each Shop Small Saturday will include a sign-up fishbowl event, where shoppers are encouraged to stop by Shop Small HQ, fill out a form with a cell phone number before they begin shopping. At the top of every hour, volunteers will reach into the fishbowl and call one registered shopper via cell phone. If the shopper can get back to the fishbowl in 10 minutes, they will receive $25 in Community Cash good for any business in Mount Vernon and Lisbon. At the bottom of the hour on both days, prizes and gifts from local retailers also will be given away.
