Follow this event page for confirmed vendors and exciting developments as the day approaches.
We know that one of the very popular activities at the First Street Community Center is attending the Farmer’s Market. The organizers of the market have posted the following note on their Facebook page, be sure to read the “good news” section.
Be safe, be well, and we will see you again after this passes for the outdoor Farmers Market season!

Hey there Everyone!
With yesterday’s announcement from the governor about limiting group gatherings to ten or less people, we are going to have to cancel the remaining two weeks of Saturday morning farmers’s markets. We are going to set our sights on looking forward to the outdoor markets that will start on Thursdays in May, but until then, we will have to say, “See ya in a bit!”
BUT WAIT!!! THERE’S ANOTHER THING!!!!
There is still good news for today, here & now!
Our vendors are still offering their products for private sales and here is a list of contact information for some of the vendors:
One thing to notate about dealing directly with the owner of a small business is the fact that they are more than happy to work with you on how and when to get their quality products into your hands. For instance, Jaime from Twisted Oaks Meats mentioned that if you go to their website and click on the Mt. Vernon Farmers’ Market as the delivery point for your order, she’ll meet you there! Pretty cool, huh?!?!?!
Saturdays 10am – 12pm in the First Street Community Center
It may be cold and snowy outside! But it’ll be nice and warm inside the First Street Community Center for the first indoor market of the season! Come and visit this Saturday, Nov. 2nd from 10am – noon for the start of the indoor farmers’ market inside the First Street Community Center! (Insert wild cheering and applause here)
We are expecting some great things including but not limited to honey, baked goods, produce including gourmet mushrooms, arts and crafts, and more!
Bring your kids, your friends, and a stray neighbor or two! We have a variety of vendors and a plethora of delicious items from which to choose. Stock the cupboards and fill the pantry, it is time for the Mt. Vernon Winter Farmers Market!
Our market is a thriving little community of entrepreneurs. All our products are raised, produced, or created right here in the surrounding community by the person selling them on the other side of the table.
Beautiful vegetables, delicious artisan breads, jams and jellies. We have several different varieties of local, grass-fed meats as well as farm fresh eggs available. Dried beans, fresh ground cornmeal, popcorn, and meat seasoning mixes!
Gluten-free products and tasty treats are here, along with honey, shag-bark hickory nuts, walnuts and dry herbs.
Hand-dipped chocolates, exquisite hats, scarves and baby items. Handcrafted jewelry is a must-see, perfect for gifts.
Come out to the Mount Vernon Farmers Market this Thursday the 6th of September from 4:30 – 6:30!
Not only will you get a chance to purchase fresh produce from local farmers you know and trust, but, we will be hosting live music by Leah Woosley & Braden Rood!
