Lianne Westcot Painting

On Friday the 4th of March please join East End Art for our FIRST FRIDAY Art Exhibit featuring acyrlic landscape painter, Lianne Westcot. Come enjoy light refreshments, meet Lianne and schmooze with other artists.

This exhibit is in the library, adjacent to the gallery, in the First Street Community Center.

Lianne’s formal training includes a degree in Graphic Design from Iowa State University, as well as fine art study of drawing, watermedia, and hand lettering. While a student, her work was selected for the Iowa College Salon and Iowa State Fair Fine Art Exhibition as a Merit Award Recipient.

I love the Midwest countryside and its vignettes and vistas. I am a native Iowan and my parents were trained horticulturalists. Growing up in rural Iowa, the countryside was an important part of life. I find inspiration in the farms, fields, and nature areas of the local countryside.

Lianne shows her Local Landscapes collection in juried art shows, exhibitions, and galleries. Worthy of note is a 30′ x 4′ panorama permanently installed at Cedar Ridge Vineyards (“Seasons of Cedar Ridge“) and three original paintings purchased for the permanent collection of Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.
